Shell and BP are proud to return as Joint Principal Funders of TechFest In September 2008 - Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland’s 15th annual festival of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
We recognise a very real and urgent need to capture children’s natural curiosity in the STEM subjects at a young age, in order to enthuse and inspire their sustained interest in later years. Consequently, BP and Shell are delighted to support TechFest-SetPoint’s 2008 Primary Schools Programme, which places its emphasis firmly upon direct opportunities for children to engage in STEM activity through participation in a variety of hands-on workshops and shows. These are specifically programmed to enrich and enhance the on-going classroom work currently being delivered by teachers under the new Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
Our continued sponsorship of the TechFest In September programme is not only a genuine commitment to the future development of our industry but also represents a positive investment in an upcoming STEM-literate generation.
