Supported by the Scottish Government 'Do something creative. Do science' campaign, TechFest-Setpoint can now provide an information stand for school careers fairs and subject choice evenings. The stand provides information on the range of STEM subjects, highlighting the varied and interesting career opportunities to which they can lead. We also have a number of STEM Ambassadors who are willing to visit schools to describe their careers to pupils. This can be a good way of helping pupils consider the world outside school. Contact Sam Cordiner at s.cordiner@abdn.ac.uk to discuss this opportunity.
We are also in the process of developing a number of careers-related workshops to deliver in schools. Just now 'STEM in Retail', STEM in Healthcare' and 'STEM in Rural Locations' are under development.
