Be a STEM Ambassador
Becoming a STEM Ambassador is an enjoyable and rewarding way of contributing to your local community and encouraging primary and secondary school students to get actively involved in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects.
Your knowledge and skills will assist the STEM programmes on a voluntary basis, by proving support and encouragement for young people. STEM Ambassadors are required to give a minimum of one day per year to the programme.

The benefits of becoming a STEM Ambassador
Individually it is a fantastic opportunity to share enthusiasm and excitement of educating young people and widening their horizons. It is an enlivening chance to further develop interpersonal communication, planning and presentation skills. Being involved in the local community and contribution to the scheme is recognised as part of continuing professional development. It is a great way to gain valuable experience and skills and meet new people through a professional and well organised scheme that is recognised by major employers.
The organisation/company gain an opportunity to support recruitment by interesting young people in STEM. This is an excellent opportunity to raise a company profile, and is also a cost effective way of putting something back into the community. In addition this offers personal and professional development opportunities to company staff. We also provide insurance for the staff of the company when on ambassador’s work in schools.
The pupils and schools gain creative motivation, confidence and enthusiasm for STEM subjects. By working with a STEM Ambassador they can relate STEM subjects to everyday experiences. It improves skills, attitudes and understanding of STEM. It will also expose the pupils to the current industrial practise, research techniques and enable them to identify potential careers in STEM.
