Primary Enterprising Maths
29 Aberdeen primary schools, 87 pupils from P6 and P7, with 29 teachers took part in the Sixth Annual Primary Enterprising Maths competition held in April at Elphinstone Hall, University of Aberdeen.
The event, jointly organised by TechFest-SetPoint, Aberdeen City Council and the University of Aberdeen School of Education saw teams tackle a variety of exciting mathematical games and challenges concluding with the maths relay. Whilst there was an element of competition between the schools, the emphasis of the day was on team work, mathematical thinking and fun!
The poster topic was ‘A Numerical Journey Through Time and Space’ which produced an impressive display of informative and attractive posters. The judges finally declared the winners:
Poster competition: Middleton Park Primary
Overall winners: St Peters RC Primary
Runners up: Ashley Road Primary
