Maths takes Flight
This week, for the first time, TechFest-SetPoint will be flying up to Orkney to deliver Maths in the Pipeline to secondary school pupils. Supported by the Scottish Government and sponsored by the SPE, this event aims to show pupils how integral mathematics is in the oil and gas industry.
Dr Yashka Manning from TechFest-SetPoint said "We are delighted to have the opportunity to host this event for the first time in Orkney; the pupils will get the chance to work with industry professionals and explore how important mathematics is to the oil and gas industry. This event has been running for several years however, we have previously only taken it as far north as Inverness, this is a great opportunity to expand the reach of this project."
