Cosmic Dome

Cosmic Dome, TechFest-SetPoint's mobile planetarium, can bring astronomy and colour shows to you.

  • The Night Sky Show
  • Moon and Seasons Workshop
  • Day and Night, Sun and Moon Show
  • Light and Sound Show
  • Colour Workshop

Shows are presenter-led, curriculum-based and can be tailored to your needs.

Placing the dome

Cosmic Dome requires a flat area 6m x 6m and 3.5m high, indoors, with no heaters, lights or projections near or overhead. Two electric sockets should be within 10m. There should be no direct sunlight on the dome. A gymnasium is usually suitable. The equipment takes 30 minutes to set up, and 20 minutes to dismantle. We can collapse the dome if the room is needed for lunch.

In addition to TechFest-SetPoint's Primary Outreach Programme the Cosmic Dome can attend evening and weekend activities, such as camps and fairs.
